As a parent, you are constantly monitoring everything that your children are exposed to. You want to make sure the music they listen to and the shows that they watch are not introducing them to any concepts that are too mature for their young minds. Well, Skate Station of Sumter is happy to ease your mind by guaranteeing your children a G-rated skating experience, where the music we play contains no explicit content whatsoever. Thursday nights are our Totally Terrific Thursdays, featuring two different skating sessions, both of which offer a music selection appropriate for the youngest of ears.

Radio Disney

Thursday nights from 5 to 7 p.m., we play Radio Disney to for a G-rated skating experience. Parents can confidently bring their young kids to skate without worrying that they are being exposed to explicit content. There tends to be a misconception that Radio Disney only plays Disney music, but this is not the case. Radio Disney plays top 40 hits, the same songs your kids hear on the radio, but edits the lyrics when necessary to ensure a G rating.

During this skating session, we offer free skating lessons where both beginner and immediate skills are taught in a group class from 5 to 5:30. We also have complimentary skate mate trainers available until 5:45 for beginners as deemed necessary by the class instructor.

Contemporary Christian

Following Radio Disney on Thursday nights we play Contemporary Christian music and gospel music favorites, which is the perfect continuation of our G-rated night. This skate session, which takes place from 7 to 9 p.m., is ideal for church group outings, school fundraisers, youth group trips and birthday parties.

We don’t know about you but we are sick of this cold weather and ready for some SUNSHINE! We totally have spring fever, what about you? We have decided to take a spin on “April Showers Brings May Flowers” and say here at Skate Station in Sumter, “April Showers Brings AWESOME events all month long!”. To kick-off April we start with our Duct Tape Mania Lock-In on April 4th from 7pm to 7am. Full 12 hours of duct tape games, crafts, giveaways and more! Bring a roll of duct tape and get a FREE 16oz fountain drink! Don’t go far….the next day on April 5th we have our Candy Scramble at Apx: 2:45pm. Win SO MUCH FREE CANDY!

Worried about your child out-growing their skates? Our job is to get you the most out of your purchase.  We will size your child with room for growth.  Most skates priced over $100 we can remove the shoe and replace with the same or similar skate shoe and utilize the remaining components.  Better yet, we won’t charge you labor for that conversion when you buy from us.

Speed, Derby and Jam skaters we’ve got what you need.  We carry and service all major equipment brands, components and gear.  Artistic Skaters,our pro shop expert is a former national champion skater, coach, and manufacturer’s rep.  We’ve got you covered too. From mouth pieces to laces, you’ve found the right shop.  Not only will we get you rolling, we’ll make sure you’re rolling just the way you like and coach you up a little to make the transition to your new ride.

Need layaway?  We do offer layaway for as little as $20 down will start any item for layaway and we’ll give you up to 90 days to pay it off.

As we end a very chilly, snowy and icy February, we enter in to March with some mega awesome events that will warm your spirits!

Kicking off this month is our 1/2 Day Skate on March 5th, then March 7th is double packed with Great Clips, Skate Station and The Ink Basket are offering a FREE child haircut from 3-7pm and all $6 admission fees collected will benefit Palmetto Health Childrens Hospital on behalf of Great Clips of Sumter.

After you get your haircut, join us from 7pm to 7am for our Board Game Night. On March 14th, if your feeling lucky, join us at our Mystery Shamrock Skate, March 22nd at apx: 2:45 is our Balloon Drop and March 28th from 7-11pm is our Paycheck Night.
