Free Admission to Skate Station of Sumter’s Anniversary Party

events in SumterIt’s hard to believe that it was over 10 years ago when Chris and Tammy Griffith made the wrong turn that would make their dreams a reality. As a long time general manager of family-owned skating rinks in Jacksonville, FL, Chris developed a passion for the skating industry. He saw how one facility could bring families together, giving them a place to laugh, play and have fun as a unit. While he enjoyed his work, he realized he no longer wanted to be employed at some else’s rink, but wanted to create his own family fun center. So, when he came to Sumter in the winter of 2003, he and Tammy were already looking to purchase an existing rink.

Little did they know that when Chris mistakenly took a wrong turn on the way to visit his family, it would lead them to a struggling facility in need of new ownership. Needless to say, they quickly seized the opportunity and created Skate Station of Sumter, which opened in April 2004. The rest, as they say, is history.
